In this section you will find all the anchors useful for setting up a VIA FERRATA.
All of the highest quality in A304 stainless steel and DUPLEX, on request also in A316L
Stainless steel AISI 316 cable Ø12 mm composed of 7 trefoils of 7 strands.
Very high quality and highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel cable.
The stainless steel makes it particularly suitable for harsh environments such as marine and coastal areas.
The diameter of the strands are considerably thicker to art. 278* of the same diameter.
Metal core composed of 49 strands in right-hand lay.
It is a very popular cable for via ferrata and protected paths where the emphasis is on durability and strand strength.
However this does create a somewhat rigid cable which is difficult to bend around a thimble.
This can be particularly problematic when constructing departure anchors.
For this reason we have designed departure anchors which do not use thimble fittings but instead fix the lengthwise edge of the cable to a bolt using inbuilt U-clamps.
The diameter of this cable has been confirmed as a suitable measurement for via ferrata routes as the breakage load is able to resist the very high forces applied by the build-up of snow on slopes.
Note: given the rigidity of this cable, it is only available in 12 mm diameter.
Conforms to EN 12385. Supplied with Certificate of Quality.
