INSERT FOR ART. 418

The "Insert for the hole of art. 418*" for Via Ferrata, has been designed to make two Ø22 holes with maximum mutual adhesion.

It consists of two parts: a head with an eyelet and a stem to be introduced in the shortest hole.

The total length of the article is L = 150 mm

Make the first hole, the short one L min = 100 mm
Use the insert to determine the right depth (which is equal to the slightly turned cylindrical part, which measures L = 100 mm).
Clean the hole, then completely insert the turned part into the hole. Outside the rock it remains only the part with the eyelet, which serves to facilitate the extraction.
Make the second long hole, taking care to position the tip close to the insert. The insert is in aluminum to avoid damaging the side flanks of the tips.

The presence of the insert prevents the tips from derailing during its path towards the vacuum generated by the first hole. This is essential.

Extract the insert from the hole using a lanyard or carabiner passed through the eyelet and remove the rock portion between the two holes with the drill bit and with a chisel.
Clean and remove the dust and the fragments with a suitable brush and blower in the entire hole.
Check the correctness of the long hole by introducing the art. 418*
Proceed with the gluing of the anchor with epoxy resin, as described in the attached technical data sheet.
