In this section you will find all the anchors useful for setting up a VIA FERRATA.
All of the highest quality in A304 stainless steel and DUPLEX, on request also in A316L
A similar bolt to art. 248 but using "ribbed” stainless steel Ø16mm rebar.
Specifically designed for vertical (or steeply diagonal - up to 60°) sections.
This style of anchor offers the highest level of safety of any “Italian”-style VIA FERRATA bolt on the market.
News 2018: now produced in DUPLEX steel, with even greater corrosion resistance!
Read the characteristics below!!!
In the (unlikely) event of a fall, the carabiner will be positioned lengthwise on the anchor, reducing the chance of breakage to almost zero.
In practice the carabiner "works" to its best performance.
There is a substantial risk that a violent fall on numerous old-style via ferrata bolts can cause a carabiner to break.
Consequently, please take care when undertaking these routes and be aware of where you would land following a fall…
TO AVOID SERIOUS AND FATAL INJURIES, THE USE OF A VIA FERRATA SET (CONFORMING TO EUROPEAN NORMS) WITH AN ENERGY ABSORBER IS OBLIGATORY.
A stainless steel ribbed rebar anchor - Ø 16x300 mm.
The knurled shank allows for excellent bonding with the resin within the hole (Ø20 mm hole, see art.452*).
When placing the bolt it is important to ensure than the cable will be positioned at an appropriate distance from the face to reduce the risk of the climber hitting the wall in the event of a fall.
The steel cable must be kept relatively taut within this anchor, using the in-built U-clamp.
In “Italian”-style via ferrata, the steel cable is safe to use both as an anchor and as a climbing aid.
Finally the nuts on the U-clamps are "self-locking", preventing accidental loosening of the cable over time.
The surface is finished in a pleasant pale grey for a low visual impact.
